It is interesting to learn that "Cheever"Comey comes from an old New Hampshire family—his granddaddy raised a family of 13 on a little old rocky (probably "granite") farm in Wilmot, N. H.and the Civil War monument on the village square at Wilmot Flats indicates that he sent three of his sons as members of the N. H. volunteer infantryperhaps this background is one reason why "Cheever" at the age of 55 passed the physical and was accepted for duty throughout recent World War II—he may be interested to know that a few miles from Canaan on the road to Rumney there is a settlement called "Cheever"—named, without doubt, after some of his numerous forebears.

Out in California Les Wiggin has a "Trunk"—we don't know what kind of a Trunk it is but it must possess several false bottoms because at unpredicted intervals "The '10 Ivory Tickler" sends us various bits of 1910 lore—latest was three negatives which prints revealed to have been taken at our 20th Reunion with Jim Porter, Phil Forristal, Earle Pierce, Harry Harrison, JohnnyHobbs, Ed Shattuck and young Bob MacPherson as principals, according to research work done by Earle—the prints are dark but if we can get a sufficiently clear one, we will use it in these columns.

OFFSPRING—Frank Brady Jr. is doing graduate work at Yale—Chad's daughter Melissa and her three young daughters went from San Francisco to Montana for Thanksgiving to afford the grandparents some fun with the youngsters—Bob Parker works for Bill Brown in Gloucester's well known department store, W. G. Brown Cos.—Dick Sherwin manages Vermont Printing Company at BrattleboroLeo Sherman is chesty with 7 granddaughters, 2 grandsons—Kenneth Dyer entered Univ. of Maine a year ago, spent freshman year at the Brunswick Annex, is now a sophomore at Orono—The five Wilkinson children are certainly growing up according to the attractive Xmas cards which show their progress each year—Tally Holmes' older son graduated from Cornell a year ago, is in law school at Washington, assists his father in business his younger son on the track team at Bowdoin will graduate from there in JuneWhen Brian Baxter isn't attending Marymount Military Academy, Chan has him out shooting ducks with a 32 calibre rifle which is no slight undertaking in itself—he should be an expert shot by the time he is big enough to handle a shotgun—Dick Tobin has been accepted in Dartmouth Medical School-Robert Taylor (Otto) D' 43, studied English at Columbia 5 years, is now with American Steel and Wire at Cleveland—Younger brother John D'48 is working for American Insurance Cos., one of Pineo Jackson's affiliates—We had such a nice letter from Jack Dingle telling us about John Jr. and other items of interest that we have saved it for next issue of TennerTopics which you may receive before the April MAGAZINE is in your hands.

Tenner Topics makes such heavy inroads into our available material that we will need a considerable volume of letters from you fellows before the year end to maintain our MAGAZINE pace.

Charlie Noone, eminent Tennessee attorney, Rollins College trustee, told Andy Scarlett recently of something that happened about 1906—and it is good enough to pass along in this day and age which seem filled with prognosticators of erroneous prognostications, and those who do not know what to prognosticate —"I never will forget," writes Charlie, "when I tried to enlist the aid of an uncle to help me in my efforts toward an education at Dartmouth to which he responded by saying, 'Charlie, in my opinion, there will be more educated dam fools in America within the next 25 years than in any country in the world.'"

"Slip" Powers, another of 1910's eminent attorneys, spoke on "Some Do's and Don't in Trials" at Feb. 16 Buffet Supper of Boston Bar Association—Ed Loveland was re-elected secretary of Vermont Dairymen's Ass'nPineo Jackson is chairman of Montclair, N. J. insurance advisory board, appointed by none other than the one and only Josh Davis, Montclair Finance Commissioner—CharlieGibson, basketballer of yore, keeps up-to-date by attending home games in Hanover—Jim andLouise Mac Pherson are wintering in Lake Worth, Fla.

A couple of nights ago we were one of about 20 Dartmouth men who attended a delicious buffet dinner at the charming home of Dr. Harold Winchester and family in Dunedin which is the close-by adjoining town to Clearwater—The Winchesters were perfect hosts—Dr. and Mrs. Harold Winchester assisted by son Walter, who later in the evening showed the group some fine colored slides of Hanover scenes, all three of the family being quite expert in amateur photography (the colored slide hobby being one into which we have plunged deeply in the last year)— Prof. Charles Proctor chauffeured Dr. Kingsford ("Bush" to you over cutters of his regime) and myself to the party at which were Dr. Fred Lord, Art's brotherthe Chases (Steve, the hurdler; Frederick '05; Steve's son Frederick of a recent Dartmouth class)— Walter Harriman '08—Paul Smith '14 "Inge" Fearing '19—with the rest before and after our time.

Weather has been perfect down here this winter—lots of Dartmouth men in the areait's a lazy life and could be quite aimless if one so permitted—we're starting back around April I—but expect to see several big league baseball teams in action before then.

Please keep your letters coming to Canaan, N. H. address—they'll be forwarded or kept later there for me—l am going to need plenty of material for notes of April and May closing dates.
