A CAMP AQUATIC PROGRAM,
June 1949 Herbert F. West '22

by Prof.1 Sidney C. Hazelton 'O9. S. C. Hazelton; 1949;99 pages; $2.25.

It was nearly thirty years ago that I found out by personal experience what an excellent 0 acher Mr. Hazelton is. I remember his admonition, still good, "THINK about what you are doing," as he taught some boy the leg kick, or how to use his arms in the crawl. He is a master o£ simple exposition and clarity in explaining how to do things whether it is swimming or first aid.

I am glad, indeed, to recommend to anyone connected in the remotest way with swimming, teaching swimming, or in organizing and running any aquatic program, this THIRD edition o£ his excellent book.

It contains six charts, nearly twenty pages of drawings or diagrams, and new material in the text. I don't see how anyone can be without it who is connected with aquatics. Its 0d advice could save lives; it is indispensable to all boy's and girl's camp directors, and to all swimming teachers.

Reading it reminded me most pleasantly of our early camping experiences, "which was the beginning o£ a friendship o£ many years, and clearly through the mists of time emerges the outlines o£ Treasure Island in Lake Winnepesaukee. Those were the days.
