William H. Perry '2l, secretary of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston, was acclaimed the best alumni club secretary of the year at the annual May meetings of class and club officers in Hanover. His accomplishments were summarized in the following citation:
The Boston Alumni Association has the large and important responsibility of maintaining and developing the interest of some 5,000 Dartmouth men in the College. This great crowd of alumni is scattered over a large area. There is both a tremendous challenge and a huge task involved in tackling this job. During the past year Dartmouth has been exceedingly fortunate to have its affairs carried forward to new heights of achievement under the leadership of three men: Charles W. Bartlett '27, president of the Association; Wilfred H. Smart 'O7, executive officer with permanent offices in the Parker House Office Building; and the recipient of our award for 1949, William H. Perry of the Class of 1921. How Bill finds time to work successfully as president and treasurer of the Cambridge Paper Box Company we don't know—and we prefer not to inquire!
There was at least one major event on the schedule for every month of the past year to appeal to the interests of Dartmouth men in and around Boston. Bill Perry is carrying on next year and we hope for longer than that as secretary of the large and active Boston Alumni Association. He is our nominee for Ail-American club secretary of the year!
