Did Someone Say Easy?
November 1950

Transferred from his position as vice president of Lightolier Inc., in New York City, a post which he held from 1922 until 1943, Robert Fish '18 travelled to Arizona to take it easy and to attempt a cure for the acute arthritis from which he suffered. He has. however, taken it easy the hard way or so it seems to those who are acquainted with his many activities in Tucson, where he now lives.

In 1947 he was appointed by the Governor of Arizona to the important three-man Arizona Power Authority, a most important assignment in a state where the allocation of water means wealth or poverty. In 1949 he was reappointed by Governor Garvey for a four-year term.

In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Fish has become an amateur artist of considerable skill, and is a speaker often in demand by Rotary Clubs, forums, and the University of Arizona. His executive ability has made him sought after also as a fund-raiser for community enterprises. A long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Tucson Medical Center, he is now chairman of the executive committee, which has directed the growth of the Medical Center into the modern hospital it now is. He served as president of the Tucson Dartmouth Club for four years, stepping down this last spring to make way for John M. Harlow '28.

Besides his wife Mildred, Mr. Fish's family consists of Connie, 22, who graduated from Stanford University last June- Joan, 20, a junior at Stanford; and Bob, 15, who entered Tucson Senior High School this fall.
