By request, these notes will be brief thismonth, since editorial space is scarce thisissue. What better to do than give you RodSoule's write-up of the Harvard party?

"Although I did not hear from you, I did hope that you would jump a plane and be up for the 1916 dinner last Friday night (pre-Harvard). Therefore, when you did not arrive, we were all disappointed. (Thanks for them gracious words.) We had a good get-together and here is- the dope on the party. First, we had a total of 23 men who came to the dinner and three more who arrived a short time before or after the dinner. The men who came were:

"Bill Caldwell, Tug Tyler, Joe Neivmark, GilTapley, Gran Fuller, Dick Ellis, Ralph George,Frank Bobst, Eig Eigner, Roger Morse, Fred Bailey,Sam Cutler, Tog Up bam, Cliff Bean, Hobey Baker,Lincoln Filene, Max Bernkopf, Bob Steinert, AlecJardine, Jim Shanahan, Art Marsden, JockFletcher, Rod Soule.

"Ken Henderson showed up a short time before the dinner and Bert Phinney came after, together with Dick Eigner, Eig's boy, whom I understand is about a 3.8 man in Dartmouth.

We were fortunate to have Larry Whittemore come in after dinner and tell us some of his north country stories. He was very good. Cliff Bean also gave us his usual good comments on the football team and prospective enrollment. Cliff is always tops. We originally intended to get EdChamberlain as a speaker, or one of the coaches, but we were unable to do so. Here are some of the comments on the post cards which were returned by the men who could not come.

"The card from Mrs. Ollie Barr stated that he could not be present. Cards from Bob Dana. JessFenno, Chuck Dudley, John Gile and Jim Coffin all stated that they could not come. Jim Coffin was very disappointed in not being here but evidently something came up so that he could not make it. "Honey Abraham stated, 'Connie and I intended coming down for the game but discovered that it was not possible to get hotel accommodations due to a medical convention. Please give my regards to the bunch and express my regrets at not being able to see them.'

"Parker Hayden stated that he was awfully sorry but had to speak at a meeting in Fall River that evening. Jack English's card read as follows: 'But I'll be there next year. Best wishes to all for a grand evening as usual.' Cap Carey said 'Sorry to miss this one. Hope you have a large turnout. Warm regards to youself and the entire group.' Mary Fuller sent a card in for Don: 'Greetings to all 16-ers. Only wish he could be present.' DickParkhurst sent greetings. Ed Craver: 'Sorry can't make it. Best.' Jim Shanahan: 'Am going to game but doubt if I can make the Puritan.' (As you note above, Jim showed up at the dinner, smiling and affable as ever.) Art Fiske: 'Will see the gang at the game, seats in Sec. 3.' Abe Lincoln: 'Sorry I can't come. I broke my leg badly two months ago and am just out of a cast and still on crutches. Wah-Hoo-Wah.'

"Bill Mott is certainly one of the most healthy looking specimens of the Class and we were very much concerned over his card, which read as follows: 'Sorry can't make it this year. At the moment I'm in Exeter Hospital going through the usual rest period after a coronary attack September 16. Expect to go to my farm within next couple of days for another 30-60 days' rest. Probably back at business in a limited way after first of year and full steam ahead by March. On the whole, it wasn't too bad and I'm luckv. The greatest damage was to my ego, I thought I was healthy as hell.' "

After ten years at the address which has heretofore appeared at the head of this column, your secretary has moved to Dartmouth House, 8608 Broad Brook Drive, Bethesda, Md. The postoffice in Bethesda will shortly become very conscious of the presence of Dartmouth House in the community, because I get a lot of mail, including bills, and the postman will soon begin to wonder what this Dartmouth House is. He'll find out. Anyway, any 'l6-ers coming to Washington are invited to inspect the glowing new premises. As I often say to Betty: "I wish we could afford
