Our readers will remember that Coach Tommy Dent's soccer team was riding the crest of an undefeated wave as our last communication went to press. This happy state continued for another week, during which the Green journeyed down to Cambridge and took Harvard into camp, 4-2, while their big brothers on the football team were doing likewise. The Dartmouth goals were scored by Don Weitz, twice, Bill Leshure and Clint Chin. In the final period, Coach Dent protected his lead by pulling back his entire aggregation, forwards and all, into Dartmouth territory and there stood off the attacking Harvards until the victory whistle.

The winning streak came to an abrupt conclusion the next week, however, on a muddy field in the pouring rain at New Haven. The Yales proved to be the best mudders and won by the score of 6-1, sinking six out of the seven long shots they launched in the first half. The only Dartmouth score came on a penalty shot by Jack Hart, who booted in his specialty in the first period. The rest of the contest was marked by the increasing indistiguishability of the players, as they plowed through the gloom and the mud. The playing conditions got so bad in the second half that neither side could score.

The following week, the team bounced back to beat Boston University by the decisive margin of 6-3. After a slow first half, Coach Dent's men came to life in the second, scoring five of their six markers in the latter period. Jack Hart made the only Dartmouth tally in the first half, following an assist by Don Weitz. After the intermission, the scoring went as follows: Billy Leshure tallied after a long kick by Jack Hall; Gus Hulman on a pass from Weitz; Jack Hart nudged one in that Leshure sent toward the goal; Jay Gintel booted one from 25 yards out; and Jack Hall sent one toward the net and Billy Leshure kicked it in. That wrapped up the game for the sixth victory out of seven starts to date.
