Last month, in writing about the past-time pedagogues of 1902, I forgot to mention Frank Archibald, who taught school three years before he entered Dartmouth and left college at the end of Junior year to teach school 2 years in West Swanzey. Since then he has been Circulation Manager first with Crowell-Collier in Springfield, Ohio, then with Rand McNally in Chicago. He spent about 20 years in St. Paul as Asst. Circulation Manager of The Farmer and the Farmer'sWife and the St. Paul Dispatch. Since 1927, he has been Asst. Director of Circulation of the Farm Journal in Philadelphia, the world s largest rural magazine. Last fall he saw Dartmouth lose 2 games, to Penn and Princeton, but in the latter he says we won everything but the score.

I have written so much about retiring classmates that I should sometime tell you of those who are still on the job, like Archie. "Duckie" Drake, as Chairman of the Board of Gulf Oil, is very much so and writes me of his recent trip to Europe, when he found Italy, Belgium and Switzerland encouraging but felt that things were desperate in Engl and. Arba lroin tells me that he is still Western Manager for Cresmer and Woodward in the newspaper advertising business. BakerKeniston is still Chief Justice of the Boston Municipal Court and Joe Holmes, Ben Riley and Charlie Dudley seem happily active. "Dud" is very proud of his son, Drew Dudley, a Dartmouth graduate of 1933, who has gone far. Before the war he was Consumer Sales Director of William Wrigley Jr., Cos. and during the war worked with the office of War Information and later became Chief of the Media Programming Division in the office of War Mobilization. On November 1 he was appointed Director of Public Relations for Europe for the International Bank for Reconstruction.
