Pearl Edson ("Eddy") writes me that he and Charlie Goddard have finished their working days and retired as of April 1. "Eddy" expects to spend his summers at his old family cottage in Brookfield, Vt., and possibly his winters in Florida. Charlie Goddard seems to like Palm Beach in the winter, and in the summer some wild island off the Maine Coast, where there are bears and deer and plenty of wild life. Drop in and see a fellow, Charlie.
I had a nice letter from Roy Merrill who is still in Shelburne Falls. He says he had his 67th birthday last Christmas and has only been skating once this year. He says Neale Carley, who has retired from teaching German at the Francis W. Parker School, spends his summers at Shelburne Falls.
"Watty" sends me a wedding announcement of his son, Ernest Bradlee Jr., to Miss Beatrice Warren of Seattle, a member of the Repertory Theatre Co., of that city. Watty's son has seen four years of very active service in the Pacific, Kiska, the Philippines and Japan. He is continuing his theatre work—scenic and technical direction.
I am very sorry to hear from Steve Stevens '01 that Bob Leach's wife has been in a very bad auto accident, suffering a fractured pelvis and other serious injuries.
