Arba Irvin writes me that he is still with Cresmer and Woodward in Chicago. He thinks he might possibly consider resigning next June, when he plans to be with us in Hanover. Arba's last two years have been saddened by the loss of his son and the illness of his wife Letitia, who suffered a severe heart attack last December. We are glad to report that after a long illness she is getting around.

Arba's daughter Joan is married to Walter Gale, who has been a professor at M. I. T. and has recently been made Secretary of that Institution. They have two children, a son who is a sophomore at S.M.U., and a daughter in Smith, who is interested in dramatics and was a member of the Peterboro (N. H.) Players last summer. His son had two boys who will carry on the Irvin name.

Frank Archibald left a bequest of $1000 to the 1902 Class Fund. Since our Class Fund had been already allocated, the money has been used to establish the Frank Stearns Archibald Memorial Fund, the income of which will be credited annually to the 1902 quota of the Alumni Fund in his name. This is a splendid example that other classmates might well follow.

Ben Riley typed me a fine letter last summer. Ben has gone in all over for television and says it is more interesting than reading the papers. Ben was disgusted with the attempt to discredit General Mac Arthur and "the brilliant career of the best or one of the best Generals that ever wore the uniform of the U.S. Army." Ben has cut down on some of his long trips in Michigan and Ohio but is still heading the Riley Engineering Corporation, 8100 East Jefferson Avenue, Detroit.
