SEVERAL .VACANCIES. THROUGH expiration, of second and final terms as district members of the Alumni Council will be filled this spring in the annual process of nominating and electing new members. In some other cases present incumbents are eligible for reelection, having completed only one term of service.
According to constitutional provisions, nominations are made by alumni clubs and associations in the seven Council districts of the country. Secretaries of all alumni groups have been notified of vacancies in their districts. There is also a means of submitting nominations from any group of one hundred or more graduates of the College as explained below. Wherever more than one nomination is made from a district, mail ballots for election will be sent to all alumni in that section.
VACANCIES THIS YEAR
The Secretary of the College, Sidney C. Hay-ward '26, announces the following vacancies in each of the seven Alumni Council Districts of the country: In the New England States District H. Clifford Bean '16 of Boston completes his second term and is not eligible for reelection.
In the Middle Atlantic States District H. Sheridan Baketel Jr. '20 of Philadelphia is not eligible for reelection since this is his second two-year term of office.
In the Central States District two terms expire this year. Edouard J. Petrequin '25 of Cleveland is not eligible for reelection since this is his second two-year term of office. In the other vacancy in District III, Justin A. Stanley '33 of Chicago is eligible for reelection to a second term.
In the Middlewestern States District Frank T. Frey '38 of Milwaukee completes his second term of office and is not eligible for reelection.
In the Southern States District George V. Parkhurst '30 of Baltimore completes his first term and is eligible for reelection.
In the Southwestern States District Boyd Rogers '35 of St. Louis is not eligible for reelection since this is his second two-year term of office.
In the Western States District two final terms expire this year. Dr. William W. Washburn '14 of San Francisco and James W. Hodson '29 of Seattle are not eligible for reelection having completed two terms.
METHOD OF NOMINATION
According to Article V, Section 3, of the Alumni Council constitution, nominations beyond those submitted by approved alumni clubs may be made as follows: The Secretary of the General Associationof Alumni shall publish in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE not later than the February issuea statement of the vacancies, if any, to befilled the ensuing July 1. In addition to themethod of making nominations throughlocal alumni clubs and associations as explained above, it will be possible for anygroup of 100 alumni to petition the Secretary in favor of a properly qualified nominee, the petition to carry the endorsementof the candidate whose name will then appear on the election ballot of that district.Such nominations must be received by theSecretary of the General Association notlater than April 10.
