Harry and Mrs. Coombs had a real celebration on February 16, when Harry entered the octogenarian class. At his home in Jonesville, N. Y., there gathered all the members of his immediate family: two sons, their wives, and three grandchildren, and his daughter Marion, who is married to F. Spencer Tebbult and has one son. Harry's oldest son, Lt. Col. Frederick L. Coombs, is assistant engineer of the New York Telephone Co., and is located at Albany. His younger son, Earl H. Coombs, is an instructor in the Fort Edward, N. Y., High School. The picture which I hope will accompany these notes was taken at the time of the celebration.
In my April notes I "pointed with pride" at some of the accomplishments of '92 in the '49 Alumni Fund Drive. Now that I have the complete report in the March ALUMNI MAGAZINE I find another fine record we have made, this as Dartmouth Regulars. With 13 living members, as the Fund scores us, we have 15 who have contributed to the Fund for 10 or more consecutive years. This gives us a percentage of 115, exceeded only by 1900 with 149% and 1901 with 116%, and these are the only classes exceeding 100%. You can show your appreciation of this good work on Geiger's part by sending in now your subscription for 1950, if you have not already done so.
HARRY E. COOMBS '92 celebrated his 80th birth- day Feb. 16, at home in Jonesville, N. Y., with ail members of his immediate family present. From May 1903 until his retirement in April 1935, the Rev. Mr. Coombs held pastorates continuously.
