For the second time in three years, a Dartmouth golf team won the New England regional championship, which earned them the right to enter the finals of the Eastern Intercollegiate Golf Association tournament. They performed this noteworthy feat by winning from Brown 6-1 and from Holy Cross 4-3, over the weekend of Green Key. The order of players on the squad had pretty well jelled by the time the boys reached their final crucial test. Playing in the No. 1 spot is the rotund Dike Carey, with Ed Eichler in the No. 2 spot. Then comes Tom McMahon, playing No. 3, followed by Scotty Probasco, Captain Bill Tarlow, Mike Marchese, and Ted Remsen in that, order. Handicapped as they perennially are by the lateness of the Hanover season (they could not use the regular greens on the local course until the week after Green Key), the boys have done extremely well. Their genial mentor, Coach Tommy Keane, well merits the kudos which he shares with the team this year.
