To THE EDITOR:
The March mailing piece from the Alumni Fund Committee told the story of how the late Mr. N. A. Frost, Hanover jeweler, helped Ozora S. Davis '89 to get a Dartmouth education. The same encouragement and financial help were given by Mr. Frost to other Dartmouth men, including myself. Your suggestion that I prepare for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE a short article telling of Mr. Frost's wonderfully generous help is something that I shall feel privileged to do, but to tell the story at all adequately I ought first to know of more instances of Mr. Frost's personal financial-aid program. Through the medium of the MAGAZINE I should therefore like to ask all Dartmouth men who know of such instances to get in touch with me. For the remainder of the summer I can be reached at Hubbardston, Mass. After that I shall be at my home, 584 Highland Ave., Upper Montclair, N. J.

To THE EDITOR:
Between the dates of March 24 and April 9 seven Dartmouth skiers went to Colorado. Their trip was sponsored largely by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of the Great Divide. Thus an alumni association of Dartmouth sponsored the first national intercollegiate ski champions. And well do they deserve credit and thanks, for their generosity was boundless. Not only did their cash gift pay for our train fares, but the loan of two cars gave us transportation in the mountains. Before and after the meet they showed us wonderful hospitality, and just as thrilling was their enthusiastic support at the actual events.
Such generosity we feel should be known by others, and that's why we have written this letter. We hope other alumni will appreciate the generosity of these men from Denver-not as an example, because it is not alumni responsibility to finance college teams, but as a gesture of faith in the individuals of an institution, in this case six students and their coach.
"1 hank you" is a small phrase, often used; we write it with complete sincerity and appreciation.

One Point of View
To THE EDITOR:
In the article "Is Tito Communism's Luther?" which appeared in the April issue, Professor Adams seems to have overlooked a fact which would discredit his thesis. That fact is the trial of Laszlo Rajk and seven others which took place in Budapest, Hungary, in September, 1949. The evidence brought forth at that trial indicates that there existed in Hungary a conspiracy to sabotage and overthrow the Communist government there, a conspiracy directed by the Yugoslav government with the encouragement of American and British foreign agents.
The facts revealed in that trial cannot be disregarded on the grounds that anyone who confesses to a crime in a Communist nation cannot possibly be guilty of that crime. The correspondent of the New York Herald Tribune, who was present at the trial, writes, "The matter of drugs and torture, for example, can be disposed of at once. Not only is there no physical evidence to show that the eight men have been subjected to unusual treatment, .... but there is in addition ample evidence to suggest that they have not. The most convincing phase of this derives from the attitude of the defendants " The confessions
of the defendants were supported by the testimony of witnesses and other evidence. The idea that Tito's agents in the Eastern European nations could not possibly be in the hire of Great Britain and the United States is unverifiable. On the contrary, the United States admittedly has created a vast international spy network with the stated aim of fomenting counterrevolution in Eastern Europe. It is not simply for disagreement with Tito's opinions that the people of Eastern Europe fear him. Tito is in the imperialist camp
The DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE is certainly serving a worthy function in presenting to the alumni the views and opinions of Dartmouth faculty members. But since the series began with what, in my opinion, was a viciously anti-Christian article by Professor Knight, I seem to have a sneaking suspicion that the series is intended to convince the alumni that the College is really very "conservative" at heart....
