Pow Wow Heads Fall Events
July 1950

AMONG Dartmouth alumni events scheduled to take place in the fall, top spot is held by the big Dartmouth Pow Wow in Detroit, October 6 and 7, with the Dartmouth-Michigan football game at Ann Arbor the focal attraction for Big Green alumni from all over the country. The Dartmouth Club of Detroit, sponsor of the Pow Wow, is preparing to take care of up to 1600 men at the Friday night banquet, and the rallying cry this summer is "Get your reservations in now to be assured of a place at all the events."

With Detroit's Hotel Etatler serving as headquarters, the program will include a reception and banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 6, and a dinner dance Saturday after the game. Among the speakers at Friday's banquet will be President Dickey and Professor Allen R. Foley '20 of the History Department.

CLASS PARTIES A FEATURE

Private rooms have been reserved in the Statler Friday afternoon for class or other alumni groups desiring to hold reunions. Cocktail parties before the dinner dance Saturday will be held separately by the classes and other groups desiring to arrange them.

Special trains and busses have been chartered to take alumni from Detroit direct to the Michigan stadium at Ann Arbor Saturday. Box lunches will be available for those who want them.

The University of Michigan has set aside a special section of stadium seats for the benefit of the Dartmouth rooters, and other seats will be available if this section should be filled. Ticket applications for the Michigan game will be handled in Hanover by the DCAC in the usual manner and will be mailed out to alumni well in advance of the game. The Pow Wow Committee in Detroit, headed by Philip K. Watson '19, is handling ticket applications from alumni of the other Ivy League colleges.

Reservations for the Pow Wow events and for Detroit hotel rooms should be sent to the Dartmouth Pow Wow Committee, 1818 Buhl Building, Detroit 26, Mich.

A special tour through the Ford Motor Company at River Rouge, with transportation provided by the company, will be open to Dartmouth alumni and their guests who are in Detroit early Friday.
