On the afternoon and evening of May 23 about 90 members and their "best girls" gathered at the country retreat of SandySanderson '21 in Monson to enjoy the second annual "Fun Raising" outing, and for the second time the rains darkened the skies, but not the spirits.
Beer and set-ups were plentiful as the "Fun Raisers" gathered under the trees or on the porch to talk over old Dartmouth times. The evening was topped off with the serving of a delicious buffet supper by a caterer; music by a three-piece band was also included. To conclude the festivities, the new movie, "My First Week at Dartmouth," was shown under the able supervision of Spenny Smith '22 who held a raincoat over the projector to shield it from the rain.
Congratulations to the members of the Committee under the direction of ChairmanRed Jensen '39 and appreciation to the Sandersons for their hospitality.
Our current project is a directory of Dartmouth-Around-Springfield-In-Hanover.Ray Seabury '41 and his committee are mailing out a listing of the names and addresses of 1952-1953-1954-1955 from the Springfield area. We hope that this directory will strengthen ties all-around; undergraduate to undergraduate to alumni.
As indicated above, the movie "My First Week at Dartmouth" has been bought and paid for and is available for showing before all interested groups—with emphasis on the secondary school student bodies.
The next event on our calendar is the annual Dartmouth Night dinner, October 19, the night before the Syracuse game. DaveHarriman '26 and his committee will see that you get the details, but meanwhile, save the date.
