In a hard-fought game, Dartmouth fumbled away its chance to upset highly favored Cornell and lost, 21 to 13, before a Houseparty crowd of 14,000 at Hanover on November 17. Held to 7-7 in the first half, the Ithacans made the most of two Green bobbles, one when Dartmouth seemed on its way to score, and converted both into touchdowns. A Howard-to-Collins pass produced the first Green touchdown and Curtis scored the second on a 67-yard run after intercepting a pass. Early in the game McDonald caught Howard's pass on the Red 35, had a clear field ahead, but somehow dropped the ball on the 18.
