In its quiet way, the golf team has been having quite a season for itself, running up a record of eight straight victories in dual meet competition at the end of the season. These victories were amassed against such teams as Holy Cross, Brown, Amherst, Harvard, and Middlebury, which means that Coach Tommy Keane's eager charges had one of their best records in years. Considering the playing conditions in Hanover, such a performance is nothing short of sensational, and the boys are to be congratulated. In the final matches, the team lined up somewhat as follows, in order of team ranking: Bill Rex and Ward Hamm played number one and two respectively, with Phil Fast and Captain Bob Stiles playing three and four. Jack Boyle and Tom Sayles completed the squad, which was supplemented on occasion by Bob Griswold and George Patten. With an overall mark for the season of 12 and 3, the Dartmouth mashie-men can indeed retire on their laurels for another year.
