The Hanover Holiday affair on February 3 was addressed by Professor John W. Masland, who gave an excellent talk on the extent to which and how the United States can influence future events in the Far East. Professor John C. Adams summarized past failures and all of the negative aspects of Russian foreign and military policy. Professor Bruce W. Knight gave a talk on economic principles. About 200 alumni, their wives, and parents of undergraduates attended.
In the evening President Dickey gave a talk on the difficulties facing the College and the American people. He was introduced by Connor B. Shaw Jr. '43. John F. Meek '33, Treasurer of the College, attended the sessions.
Julie and Richard Allenby '44 of Highland Park, but temporarily sojourning at the University of Toronto, had their first son born in December at Highland Park.
Jeff Mills '47, who has been assisting the secretary of the local association in many ways, and leading younger graduates' activities in Chicago, expects to return to the Navy in April.
George E. Cogswell '34 has received an impressive promotion in the Bell Telephone Company and is now responsible for more than 100,000 subscribers.
