LUNCHEON EVERY MONDAY NOONUNIVERSITY CLUB
Louie Leverone '04 was again host at his farm for the annual outing in August which included two baseball games (one for those under 40 and another for those beyond that age), tennis, swimming, horseshoe pitching, hamburgers and corn on the cob, and much talk in a crowded and dark cabin to which all but the cooks and those seeking beer were driven by the first of the fall downpours. About 120 attended, i.e. about 12 per cent of the Dartmouth alumni in this region.
The next event is the luncheon for entering freshmen and undergraduates scheduled for September 11.
Joe Pick '23 has prepared a business directory for use as a supplement to the printed 1949 Directory. In its listings by business and profession there is available a handy list for use by buyers as well as sellers. Copies of the new list and of the Directory can be obtained from the Club Secretary, at a price of 25 cents to cover the cost of the supplement.
John William Embree III '50 was married in June to Rae Ann Ernster. We enjoyed a visit in May at the weekly lunch from FrankSullivan '29 up from Springfield. Also in May the local paper said that A. J. Hawkes 38 has been promoted to merchandise manager at Bauer & Black.
