Skiing honors are still coming to Fred H. Harris 'll, founder of the Dartmouth Outing Club: the most recent being the dedication of the Brattleboro Outing Club's ski jumping hill in his name at the national championships on Febru- ary ii.

Under Fred Harris' supervision, a new earth trestle—the largest in the country—was constructed two years ago at the Brattleboro 70-meter jumping hill, which made possible the 239-foot record-breaking leap by Arthur Tokle on the same day Harris was presented with a bronze plaque. During his years of association with the club, which he began shortly after graduating from Dartmouth, he has been an active leader and has served as club presi- dent for numerous terms. Foreseeing the hold that skiing would have as a permanent sport, he Was one of the first organizers of the United States Eastern Amateur Ski Association.

The plaque, which will be mounted later on a cement pillar near the hill, carries the following inscription:

Fred H. Harris Ski Jumping Hill Dedicated in grateful appreciation to our esteemed founder February 11, 1951 Brattleboro Outing Club
