The College got back to work on Monday morning, April 16. Tanned faces here and there looked up at professors, who probably gave fleeting thought to what it must be like to spend two weeks of spring recess on the pink sands of Bermuda or in the South. While the students were away the transition from winter to spring was pretty well accomplished in Hanover. Two elongated mounds of snow still cling to a doomed existence under the north eaves of the gymnasium, but tennis practice just a bounce away, Softball games on the campus, and students swinging golf clubs on the fraternity lawns make the snow ludicrous. The wire fences have been staked around the college lawns, droves of baby carriages have emerged, convertible tops are down, and only the sun-bathers are missing from the scene thus far. The best things in life are free, but also short. Comprehensives begin May 28.
