The annual spring meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Glens Falls and vicinity, held at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls on April 12, was highlighted by the presence of Don Cameron '35, Associate in Placement in the College Personnel Bureau. Don gave a most interesting outline of the happenings in Hanover during the past year, covering athletic and social activities as well as touching on the impact of the "cold war" on the College and the undergraduates.
Dinner was followed by the election of officers for the coming year. The nominating committee's steam roller, powered by PhilPeck '30, Bob Crawford '37 and Bill Sharp '26, crashed through to a narrow victory, eking out a win for the conservative slate in the closing minutes of the evening. Roy Middleworth '39 was elected president; Gibb Clark '42, vice-president; and Larry Kenney '28, secretary-treasurer. Retiring president, HankMoore '45, was elected to the executive committee and George Davis '28 was appointed to the important post of chairman of the committee on enrollment.
John Billiard '42, secretary-treasurer for the past three years, who has done much to build the spirit and to coordinate the activities of the Glens Falls Club, requested that his resignation from office be accepted because of increased duties at his office. John's work for the Club has been outstanding.
Three undergraduates and three fathers of undergraduates are included among the following who attended the meeting: Charlie Faxon '14, Jim Shields '14, Bill O'Connor '21, Kip Higley '24, Bill Sharp '26, George Davis '28, Larry Kenney '28, Phil Peck '30, Don Cameron '35, Bill Ferguson '36, Bob Crawford '37, Bill Bronk '38, Roy Middleworth '39, Don Hanks '41, Bud Allen '42, John Bullard '42, Gibb Clark '42, Ward Jenkins '42, Tuss Hand '43, Hank Moore '45, Einar Grell '49, Paul Rouillard '50, John Higley '51, Kirk Spurr '52, O.
