Cushman Pierce, Vendredi 13 Avril 1951 a Paris, Lundi 16 Avril 1951 a Enfield, New Hampshire, U.S.A."

Dick's bride hails from Saint Chamond, Loire, France, and is a graduate of the pension at Ste-Anne of Saint Chamond. After a ceremony at the Mairis of the 16th Arrondissement, Paris, at 11:15 a.m. Friday, April 13, and a reception at the Claridge, Dick and Marie-Louise arrived at the Leb airport at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15. The Enfield ceremony was held at the home of Dick's grandmother. After a three-weeks wedding trip in this country, they returned to Paris where the groom is with American Express. Their address is 6 Rue Georges Bizet, Paris, 16.
Two other reports from Cupid for this June column concern the engagements of Al Hardie and Don Kersting. Al's betrothal to June Wallace Carlson of Montclair, N. J., was announced April 4. A member of the Montclair Junior League, Al's fiancee is an alumna of St. Lawrence University. Don is scheduled to be married June 30 in the First Presbyterian Church, Mansfield, 0., to Doris Joyce Alverson, who attended Miami University of Ohio, Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
Careful readers of our May column will have noted that there were duplicate items on Alfred Newton, John Odeneal and JimOlsen. For the record, we wish to state that this was not due to any state of mental fog. We had originally included them in our April copy. When they were omitted, we assumed the type had been thrown in the hell box. So we re-wrote them for last month's issue, not realizing that the type on these '43ers had no intention of suffering such a fate.
Since this is our last effort until fall, we have felt obligated to set up some sort of a priority system. News is more plentiful than space, so unfortunately some of it will have to be held until October. So here goes for as much as the editor can allow:
Dick Wood is still at his old stand, superintendent of the Lebanon, N. H., Woolen Mills Corp. Son Peter will be three years old June 19. ...
Residing in Needham, Bud Wiggin has been an automotive supervisor for Shell Oil in Boston. He and Erma have two sons, Charles, four, and Richard, two. A fellow Bay Stater, Bob Wight has been assistant superintendent of Boston Varnish Co., Everett, and living in Winchester. He and Nancy are parents of two, Andrew, age three, and Callaway, three.
In Rhode Island Jim Wells is a sales supervisor for Procter & Gamble and residing in Bristol. His daughters are Susan, six, and Nancy, one. In nearby Providence, Bill Whitmarsh is with Frost & Davis Lumber Co., wholesalers.
Still with General Electric in Bridgeport, Conn., John Walton lives in Westport. He and Frances have a three-year-old daughter, Catherine, age three.
Father of a two-year-old son, Scott, GeneWiley has been a salesman for the worsted division of Pacific Mills, New York. A resident of Long Island City, Warner Willcox is equipment manager for Willcox Construction Co. Warner was married November 6, 1948, in New York to Rosamond Blister, a University of Illinois alumna.
When we reported in December that Warren Van Dyk had been named "Father of the Year" by the Paterson (N. J.) Morning Call, we forgot to mention that he is treasurer of Waldmere Builders, Fairlawn. Van also took some courses at Rutgers in 1949-50. Recently he, wife Muriel and sons Bruce and William moved from East Paterson to Waldwick.
Working in New York and living in Orange, Seth Washburn is an electrical engineer for Bell Telephone. With a B.S. and a M.S. from M.I.T., Seth is author of an article, "Relay 'Trees' and Symmetric Circuits" published by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers.
Residing in Short Hills, N. J., Dave Whittemore is a statistical accountant for American Telephone. In Bloomfield, Bob Williams is a staff writer, field training division, Prudential Insurance Co. He and Charlotte have a daughter Janet, born July 29, 1949.
News from Pennsylvania concerns SrheclWard (Media), Chic Webb (Bryn Athyn), Frank West (Havertown), and Bill Wolf (Mount Wolf). Smed is with Gulf Oil and is father of a son, Smedley 111. Chic is continuing as a wool broker for Charles J. Webb & Sons, Philadelphia. (Chic was married October 23, 1948, to Elizabeth Holmes in Philly.) Frank has been a fellow in psychiatry at Pennsylvania Hospital. A director of the Wm. H. Ottemiller Co., Bill is in the wholesale building supplies business. He has a son, Thomas, age two.
An insurance agent in Baltimore, Bail Walten has two children, Leigh, three, and Carol, two.
Swinging westward, we find Ted Uhl (Michigan A.B. '43, J.D. '46) a law clerk for Uhl, Bryant, Siawson & Wheeler, Grand Rapids, Mich. In Detroit Paul Weinbrenner is vice president of B. C. Willis Co. In Toledo Charlie Swartzbaugh is assistant secretary-treasurer of Lanson Bros. Co., a department store. He and Margaret have two daughters, Nancy, age four, and Barbara, age two.
Connor Shaw is assistant to the general manager of Marshall Field, Chicago, and resides in Lake Bluff with wife Marian and sons Connor III and Edward.
After receiving an M.D. degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Turell Van Petten has been serving in the Navy's medical corps. He has a son Karl, born March 29, 1949. His address is 5913 N. Bay Ridge, Milwaukee. Bernie Ziegler is assistant secretary and director of West Bend (Wis.) Aluminum Cos., manufacturers of outboard motors and aluminum utensils. He is also director of B. C. Ziegler Co. and both president and director of Decorah Farm Dairy, Inc. Bernie was married May 12, 1948, in West Bend to Margaret Gumm (University of Wisconsin). They have a son Bernie Jr., age one.
ICarney Waterman (J.D. lowa State) is a junior partner with Lane & Waterman, Davenport, la., attorneys. He and Mary have three children, Larned Jr., Mary and Ann.
Farther south Gerry Peterson (B.S. and 8.A., Washington University, St. Louis) is with Boatmen's National Bank, Webster Groves, Mo. Gerry was married February 2, 1948, in St. Louis to Janet Dixon (also Washington University). They have a son Roger, age two. Over in Clayton, Ray Wolfe is continuing as teacher-coach at Johns Burroughs School. He and Ruth have a son Michael, age three.
Con Young is an underwriter for Mutual Benefit in Omaha. Deep in Houston, Tex., Shoe Retailer Ed Tuffly now is father of four. The latest, Ellen Louise, was born May 5, 1949. The others are Louis Jr., six, Robert. five, and Lydia, three. Norm Probstein is with Affton Amusement Co., State Theater (movies) in Denver. Also in Denver, Spic Waterbury is an engineer for Colorado Builders Supply Co. He and Olivia have two children, Donald, four, and Betty, two.
Al Exendine has moved from Oklahoma City to Los Angeles. Also in LA. are AtnasaPratt, Raytheon Mfg. Co. engineer, and George Stratton, field engineer for U. S. Electric Motors, Inc. George was married in Glendale February 22, 1947, to Phyllis Firkin (Santa Monica Junior College) and has a son George Jr.
Moving up in business circles, Walt Daggatt is one of three new vice presidents of Rubberset Co., Newark. Walt has been with the company since 1945 and for the past several years has been in charge of paint brush sales. Two more '43ers on active duty with the Air Force: Lt. Charlie Does is stationed in San Francisco. He and Jane are parents of twin girls, born in March. Pete Johnson is with the headquarters of the 106 th Bombardment Wing, March Field, Riverside, Calif.
New fields for the class' two foresters, JackO'Donnell and Bob Thede. Formerly assistant manager at the Ravine Lodge, Moosilauke, Jack is now with J. W. Sewall Co., Old Town, Me. Bob is studying at the N.H.L.A. Inspection Training School, Memphis, Tenn. Earlier he had been with Forest Products, Inc., Attica, Ind.
Kent Hutchinson is a bond underwriter for Chubb & Son in San Francisco. Bruce Jones has forsaken ad writing in New York to become a copywriter for Charles Rumrill Advertising Agency, Rochester, N. Y. Former manager of Hotel Winfield Scott, Elizabeth, N. J., Roy Watson is now with Kahler Corp., Rochester, Minn. Russ and Brownie Sherburne became parents of a third child, Francena, January 26. Son Donald is five and daughter Kathleen four. Louisville's GeorgeEady landed a pound dolphin in a 30- minute tussle during a fishing festival last winter in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Bill Korns is with Time Magazine in New York. Formerly at Columbia Medical School, Dan Winters is an interne at St. Vincent's Hospital. He and Margaret have two daughters, Ann, age five, and Marie, age three. Bill Woythaler has been transferred from New York to Newport News, Va., by the W. T. Grant Co.
