THE Class of 1896 celebrated its fifty-fifth reunion on June 15, 16 and 17. Headquarters were in South Mass, though some members were registered at the Inn.
Most members arrived on Friday, June 15, and spent the afternoon renewing old and precious friendships. We were especially happy to welcome Steve Chase's wife, Helen, a most welcome addition to our group.
Friday evening we attended the President's Reception, held at Baker Library as the weather was not suitable for out of doors.
Saturday noon some of us attended the luncheon and the General Alumni Association meeting.
In the afternoon Miss Mary Fletcher and Mrs. Craven Laycock held open house at the home of Miss Fletcher—and what a beautiful home and gardens she has!
The big event of our reunion was the class dinner in Thayer Hall attended by all members of the Class who were present and all of the ladies who graced our reunion.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Chase, Isaac J. Cox, Louis S. Cox and daughter Dorothy, Mr. and Mrs. Byron E. Eldred, Thomas C. Ham, Charles A. Jaquith, Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Lakeman, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Warden. We were much delighted to have Mrs. Laycock and Miss Fletcher present at our class banquet.
Of 13 living graduates, eight showed up for our 55th—not too bad a record.
Tom Ham, 159 Park Ave., Arlington, Mass., was elected class secretary.
