As the above chart makes clear, the class fund achievements of recent years are taking the Memorial Fund program far beyond the hopes of those who initiated it in 1938. With a current total of $893,500, the million-dollar mark is likely to be exceeded during this 15th year of the program.
The three most recent class funds added to the College's unrestricted endowment have all amounted to $100,000 or more, including the 1927 gift which now stands at $91,000 against a minimum pledge of $100,000.The prospects for the next few years are equally bright.
Active campaigns will be conducted this fall by the classes of 1928 through 1932. Funds already presented to the College remain open for voluntary contributions at all times, but without organized solicitation. The Class of 1906 plans moderate activity leading up to its 50th reunion four years hence.
All eyes will be focused on the Class of 1928 from now until its reunion next Tune, as this 85-year class, under the leadership of George H. Pasfield of Philadelphia and William Cogswell of New York, conducts a joint campaign to meet its Alumni Fund objective and raise its Memorial Fund from $28,000 to $lOO,OOO.
