Upon the conclusion of 25 years of service as Treasurer of the DCAC, Max A. Norton '19, Bursar and Assistant Treasurer of the College, was thanked by William H. McCarter '19, Director of Athletics, in the formal yearly report to the Council: "This report would not be complete without paying tribute and offering the thanks of the Council to Max A. Norton '19, who herewith presents his final report as Treasurer after a quarter of a century of faithful and effective guardianship of the general funds of the Athletic Council."
Under the reorganization of responsibility for intercollegiate athletics at Dartmouth, the DCAC's financial operations now center in the office of the College Treasurer and the need for a separate DCAC treasurer no longer exists.
Mr. Norton has been closely associated with the Athletic Council ever since his undergraduate days when he acted as manager of varsity track and cross country, and was undergraduate member of the Council. In 1921 he was made assistant graduate manager under H. G. Pender '97, and graduate manager in 1923. He relinquished this position to accept the newly created job of College Bursar in 1926.
