News has been received of the death of Louise G. Barstow at Springfield, Mass. She was the widow of the lamented Elmer W.Barstow who for ten years ably served '99 as its first class secretary. Mrs. Barstow was a member of the South Congregational Church, the South Church Guild, the Mothers Research Club and the Northfield Club. Her daughter Marie, whom many will remember, is the wife of Robert L. Sharp, Professor of English at Wheaton College at Norton, Mass.
Hawley Chase honored the Secretary with a visit to his office at The Times December 31. He and Mrs. Chase spent the holidays with their daughter in Montclair and were about to motor to Florida to spend the winter.
Other classmates wintering in Florida are Charlie and Mary Adams at Daytona Beach, Joe and Elsie Hobbs at Clearwater; Warrenand Helen Kendall at their home in Sarasota, where the Dan Fords live the year round; Rodney and Margaret Sanborn at their home in Miami Shores.
Tim. Lynch continues to play golf and shuffleboard at Pinehurst, N. C., where he is a guest until April, as for several years past, at the swank Carolina Hotel.
Herb and Mrs. Rogers spent a week at Christmas time with their daughter Virginia and family at their new home in West Springfield, Mass. When the Rogers returned to Rockport they found their home in a mess made by a rusty blackbird who came down the chimney and entered through a fireplace.
Bill and Carrie Hutchinson are well and now and then flit from their hearthstone to other parts. Last fall they enjoyed visits with their two daughters, one at State College, Pa., and the other at Philadelphia. Their son's milk business is prospering. He specializes in Holstein cattle and is raising another herd of milkers from young stock.
The fifty-second '99 annual Roundup will, of course, be held on the first Saturday in March, this year March 1, starting at noon at the University Club, Boston.
