The annual spring dinner of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D. C., was an outstanding success from all angles. The program included reports from Head Football Coach Tuss McLaughry and Dud Orr '29, Dartmouth trustee. A steak dinner and a good time were enjoyed by a record gathering of alumni and guests. Larry Nezvdick '45 was in charge of arrangements for the affair which was held at the National Press Club, April 8.
Weekly luncheons at the New Athens Restaurant, 1741 K St., N.W., are proving a big drawing card, with First Vice President LowellHaas '35 presenting excellent speakers, including Harry S. Casler '30 of the State Department Information Service, Dr. Charles E.Odegaard '32 of the American Council of Learned Societies, and Comdr. George Dimitroff USN, Dartmouth astronomy professor on leave.
Gen. "Stew" Paul, USA, Ret., the Club's only life member, was a luncheon guest recently.
A standing invitation is issued to any Dartmouth men who happen to be in Washington on a Tuesday to attend the luncheons. Those who have not turned out for the weekly gatherings have surely been missing some fine programs this year.
Vice President Haas has certainly had a busy year with his United Air Lines duties, Dartmouth Club assignment, and also being president of the Washington Bons Vivants chapter of travel representatives.
