If you all will accept this first sentence as a reminder—and probably the final one— that our annual Spring Dinner is being held on Wednesday evening, April 12, and will please remember that you yourself are one of the men on whom we are counting to be there, we will undoubtedly have the best turnout we have ever had. At our last Spring Dinner we had 152 in attendance, so let's not have fewer than that. The chairman of your dinner committee, Bob Ford '34, has put in a great deal of time and effort to insure a successful evening, and we owe some evidence of appreciation to him.
Larry Reeves, of that Class (1934 minus one), has been in charge of arranging for the dancing girls—50—count 'em—50—but he has refused to make the details known in advance. Some of those deals have failed to materialize in the past, even though Larry has firmly promised them, but we are hoping that he really produces this time. He can produce for that Insurance Company, and he should be held to the same high level of performance for us.
Meanwhile, the luncheons and speakers continue to draw out the regulars and newcomers as well. F. Stirling Wilson '16, is back, having heeded our last admonition. Chester Sandy '07, Herb Woods '10, Hal Fitz '23, Mike Cardozo '32, Howie Rea '38, and Fred Dyer T '48 can be counted on almost without fail. "Rock" Grundman '21, and John Carden '20 have joined the crowd, as have George Leyser '26, John Thompson and Walter Scott, both '29.
Harris Pickens Dawson Jr. '35, known as "Swanee" back in the old days, is back in Washington after having spent a couple of years in Germany as a civilian adviser, etc., with the Armed Forces. He may be with the State Department by now, which was his plan.
John L. Sullivan '21, former Secretary of the only Navy which has never been defeated by a foreign enemy, and who is nowback in the practice of law here, has been elected President of the Burning Tree Club, swank golf club in Maryland.
Since this space is limited, the news ends for now, but let's see and hear more from more of you, and try to make our Club better than the best.
Secretary, St., N. W., Washington 5, D. C.
