The 1953 Alumni Fund by the middle of last month had got off to the fastest start ever made in the annual campaign. The results up to April 16 showed a total of $186,158 from 3,631 contributors. On the same date last year, $152,098 had been received from 2,695 alumni and friends.
By the June 30 closing date for this year's campaign the Fund hopes to exceed its 1953 goal of 5600,000. Working toward that objective are 1500 class agents and assistant agents, a number that sets another record for the Fund.
The stage for 1953's fast start was set at a series of class agents' dinners at which awards for top performances in 1952 went to Roscoe A. Hayes '19, William L. Benger '31 and David H. Hilton '51. Their citations are printed with their respective class columns in this issue.
