Squid's newsletter has already acquainted you with the CORRECT DATES of our campus reunion during the Reunion Weekend of June 19-20-21 at South Massachusetts Hall. This column emphasized that the annual reunion was to be held but created confusion as to the date, for which apologies are here offered.

Beck Johnson on the way home from the class officers' meeting in Hanover returned by way of Charlestown, N. H., and had a surprise visit with Amasa Bowles who is pretty well and working hard every day. Mrs. Bowles is presently at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital where she is under the watchful eye of their daughter Betty who has visited with us at Hanover reunions several times. Beck also relayed layed a May 4 letter from Brayton in Long Beach, Calif. Bascom reports a sub-normal rainfall this winter. "Some of the towns depending on pumps for water have been buying Lake Mead water and putting it in the ground to keep out salt water from the ocean. Arthritis about as last year but built up by Xmas goodies. The salt air and fog here aren't very good for it but it beats Idaho snowdrifts by a long way. Louise and I leave here the fore part of June for Idaho Falls.... I will have my eye on the 50th and will be there Providence permitting."

Dan Webster writes, "Hope to see you in June. Glad to see that President John has

taken a firm stand on Communism as we would expect he would. Sorry to learn that Harry has passed on. Remember the familiar monitor call that always caused a smile, 'Moore, P. Mower, Muchmore.' Think Sherm is doing a good job in getting Ike to Dartmouth in June."

Henry Hall writes, "I am afraid that the chances are not too good that I can be with you at the campus reunion next month, but I will be with you in spirit remember me to all the faithful. I enjoy very good health, and am keeping busy with interesting development and mechanical engineering work. I have become quite a Connecticut Yankee having lived in West Hartford for over 12 years. During the last several years we have enjoyed visits from Squid about twice a year, but recently his arrangements have been changed, so that source of pleasure for us has disappeared."

Bill Slayton writes, "Thanks for your friendly note appended to the summons of the class reunion of May 11. Can we ever forget the thrill of the Stadium "dedication? Let's hope to do it again on this semi-centennial. What a pity that Harrie Muchmore had to go just at the time he was ready to enjoy wellearned days of leisure. Apparently he was one of our youngest members. This living on a retirement income does not allow too much latitude of action or the satisfaction of one's whims. For the record I submit the advent of Jeffrey William, born Feb. 24 to William H. Jr. and Barbara Slayton, now residing in Watertown. I may see you at Hanover in June. Too bad our reunion could not coincide with Commencement."

Peacham's answer: "I will not be able to attend the campus reunion this year. You see I have an older sister and brother living in Spokane so feel my first obligation is to them but going there also is my annual vacation and we en joy the nice long ride as well as the visit. I am the youngest of eleven and will soon be 71; my sister is 77 and my brother 84, so there are only three of us left. Am enclosing newspaper clippings about Baha'i Faith in which you know Matt Bullock is so intensely interested. You will note that he has been elected to the National Assembly. Have been watching the building of the Temple for the last 25 years and it is really quite out of this world. The picture does it very poor justice as the dome is gold and the entire building very colorful Am looking forward to June '54 and to seeing you at that time. Kindly remember me to the boys you see in Hanover this coming June."

This telegram was received from WalterRussell the evening of May 4: "Mrs. Russell passed away peacefully at noon today. Services and interment Plymouth, N. H., Friday 8th, two o'clock at Congregational Church." Mrs. Russell had attended many reunions with Walter. Her cordiality and cheerful greetings will be remembered by our class families who have known the Russells as friends.

Tom Streeter writes, "I was one of the guests at the wedding of Lelia and Walter in Waterville a great many years ago and we had quite a time following them down that narrow road from Waterville after the wedding, in the course of which my car went into the ditch. Rosie Hinman and his wife and his son and daughter-in-law all had lunch with me here April 26, and April 17 I was in Boston and had lunch with Pen Mower, Ralph Sexton,Carl Woods, Pete Maguire and Squid Lampee. The news about Matt Bullock sounds very interesting."

From Matt the following:

"I am exceedingly sorry to have missed the eight-class reunion this year but you notice from the enclosed program that I was otherwise engaged. I am sure that those present at the reunion had a wonderful time. It would have been enough for me to have rubbed. shoulders with the remnant of the '03 team and those who cheered the team to victory. As you know after searching many years I found the Baha'i World Faith and it has been both a privilege and a pleasure to serve it in every way possible. Our recent jubilee April' 29 was divided into three parts: 1 - The annual convention, 2 - The dedication of the House of Worship in Wilmette, Ill., and 3 - The convening of the Second Intercontinental Teaching Conference composed of representatives from Canada, Central and South America and the United States. The first conference was held in Kampala Uganda, B.E.A. last February. This was a happy' experience. During the Jubilee I presided at one of our public meetings and also was one of the 'Readers' at the dedication of the Temple. You will note that there are no preachers in the Baha'i Faith, the dedication ceremony consisted of readings from the Old and New Testaments, the Koran and the Baha'i Sacred Writings; also several beautiful musical selections rendered by the Northwestern University A Cappella Choir. There is no instrument of any kind in the Temple. These services were beautiful and most inspiring. Wish you could have been there."
