The class secretary, Rebecca Rowe Hayden, has moved from the family home in Winchester to a small ranch type home in Newton Center where she feared for a time her roof would blow off during the hurricane. FrankRoute Jr. makes frequent trips to Europe in connection with his business.
Ed Sturgis writes from Houston that his wife has been hospitalized but now seems to be convalescing satisfactorily. Winifred Newman, Charles Warren's daughter, called on Eugene Burbank this summer and they had a fine visit. Mrs. Warren sent copies of two of the doctor's poems, one of which ends with "May war and conflict cease; may we glide o'er the Great Divide, with the golden wings of peace."
Deborah, Dr. Plummer's daughter, has sent news of all the family. Her brother John and family live in Maiden and his older daughter enters the University of Maine this fall. Her sister and family live in Schenectady and brother Richard lives in Rio. His older son has just graduated from Yale and the younger is still a student there. Deborah's older son has his heart set on being a doctor like his grandfather.
Much of the news for this column was sent by Robert O'Brien, who faithfully keeps in touch with all members of the class family.
