FOUR James B. Reynolds Foreign Scholarships, each carrying a stipend of $2,000, will be awarded for the academic year 1954-1955. Established by bequest of the late James B. Reynolds '90, these scholarships offer opportunities for study in foreign countries by qualified Dartmouth graduates. While all alumni are eligible, preference will be given to recent graduates. Financial need is not a factor in selection, since awards are made on the basis of the character and ability of the applicants and the value of the study programs proposed. Reynolds Scholars normally study at a well-established educational institution abroad, but exceptionally qualified men may receive approval to pursue programs of independent investigation.
Application forms may be obtained from Prof. George E. Diller, Chairman of the Committee on Graduate Fellowships, 304 Dartmouth Hall. Completed applications and supporting letters must reach Professor Diller by April 5, 1954. Alumni candidates will not be required to appear for interviews with the Committee, but any who desire interviews may write the Chairman, indicating days on which they would be free to come to Hanover. The Committee expects to interview candidates
