The Dartmouth Club of Holyoke held its annual spring meeting April 5 at the Yankee Pedlar Inn with 35 in attendance.
Eddie Chamberlain '36, Executive Officer of the College and chairman of the enrollment committee, was the principal speaker. His talk on the role the local alumni group can play in assisting Dartmouth's enrollment policies was excellent, one of the best we have ever had. Prior to his talk, Eddie was a guest on WHYN radio and TV.
A movie was shown, Football Scrapbook of1953, featuring the Yale and Princeton victories and highlighting the brighter moments in some of our losing efforts.
Our new officers were elected for the 1954-55 year and the results were as follows: President, Henry Bagg '39; Vice-President, Raymond Merrick '39; Secretary-Treasurer, John Gallup '49; Board of Directors, Arthur French, Theodore Hazen, Hallam Clark, Theodore Main, and John Hazen; Interviewing Committee, Charles H. (Bert) Kent '10, Prentiss Gallup '24, Rev. James Lancaster '36, Louis F. Oldershaw '39 and Clarke Lyon '43.
Hallam Clark, ex-president, was congratulated for the excellent job he did as president for the past two years.
It was an excellent meeting, and our plans now call for weekly meetings during the football season and our big winter gathering in December.
