Ralf E. "Ted" Kircher has certainly kept busy since graduation. He worked in Washington, D. C., at the departments of Treasury and Energy for the Bush Administration prior to moving further south. In 1993 Ted became editor of the Island Reporter of Sanibel Island, Fla. As part of a group of editors and publishers from the Florida Press Association, Ted spent a week in Cuba last March, traveling and experiencing the "sights, people, and history of a country that has been closed to Americans for 35 years."

Gail (Garron) Whyte has relocated to St. Martin, where her husband Jeff has started medical school at the American University of the Caribbean. The school was originally located on the island of Montserrat, but classes were temporarily relocated due to volcanic activity! Gail has been getting settled and enjoying the sun and the beach. They are looking for any reasonably priced rentals on St. Maarten/St Martin (Dutch or French side). If anyone knows of any, they can be reached at the Orient Bay HotelVilla #104; their phone number on the French side is 011-590-8731 10. They would love to receive mail—Gail has plenty of time for letter writing: J. Jeffrey Whyte, c/o American University of the Caribbean, Defiance Haven Campus, 174 Defiance Road, Middle Region, St. Maarten, N.A.
Ross Mandell reported that he is joining the crew of classmates who have gotten married—he's gettin' hitched in Maui next November. Steve and Amy (Burton)Forrest dropped me a note to joyfully announce the birth of their daughter Juliana, born on Amy's birthday—January 22! They are trying in vain to avoid applying parental pressure to become an '18, but she already has a Dartmouth banner above her crib. Steve and Amy have enjoyed Stanford, where Amy works in biotechnology for the university, and Steve is working toward completing his Ph.D. in geology this summer. We all look forward to meeting Juliana in Hanover this June!
You will be there in June, won't you? There are a lot of social, academic, and athletic events planned which look like a lot of fun! If for some reason you haven't received information about the Reunion, you should contact Liz Appel at the Alumni Office at (603) 646-02597. Make sure you send in your registration form and deposit today!
