A crowd of over 600 was on hand at the Bala-Cynwyd Junior High School on March 28 to applaud a fine concert by Paul Zeller's Dartmouth College Glee Club and to be bemused by the Injunaires.
Kudos for Philadelphia's part in the evening's success go to Ed Byrkit '47, ticket chairman; to Smed Ward '43, publicity; to SamRoberts '51, housing; to those alumni and friends who fed and housed the Glee-Clubbers; and to the nine sponsors of the concert H. Sheridan Baketel Jr. '20, Frederic S. Balch '19, Harrison F. Dunning '30, Wesley T. Englehorn '14, John C. Heston '28, Dr. C. Everett Koop '37, Joseph C. Mansfield '44, John R. Mason '15, and James K. Tindle '36.
Spring is in the air; the Phillies are back in Shibe Park; and our Philadelphia group is looking for local talent to represent us in the Interclub Softball League. Contact one of the Club officers if you are interested.
Speaking of spring, it will soon be time for another Philadelphia alumni picnic at JimTindle's Valley Forge Farm. Over 150 Dartmouth men, wives, offspring and sweethearts were on hand last year. The date has been set tentatively for Saturday, June 25. Notices will be mailed out.
