This will be a short column because we have to leave room in the book for listing all you swell guys who dug deep into your wallets to make this year's Alumni Fund a slambanger. Also, the real important news, i.e., with regard to Reunion, will be covered in a separate letter. Just a few of the details of the executive committee meeting.... We got more done than any of us really hoped for in advance, and probably got Reunion preparations off to as good a start as anybody could want. The way things shaped up, this is going to be a BIG 25TH.

The "official" gang included the Gilmores, the Holbrooks, the Bengers, the Littles, the Warwicks, the Boermeesters, the McAllisters, the Stecks, the Godfreys and the Morrises. And among those we spotted in the stands, while the Green was giving the Crimson its comeuppance, were Jack Bean, Ed Elmer, ErnieMoore, Dick Chase, Bill Phinney, CharlieNims, Charlie Simondson, Keith Shearman,Ralph Hunter —and probably others whose names escape me for the moment (and from whom I shall undoubtedly receive immediate reprimands for gross neglect, lapse of memory, and other trauma generally associated with the self-imposed fogginess of a football weekend in Hanover).

The spot for the class picnic was selected by the committee as a whole; and it's a beauty! You'll hear more about this later, but it includes a beautiful lake, fine bathing beach, boats, riding trails, etc., etc., ad delirium ... and your youngsters will love it. Arrangements have been made with the official photographer to contact all of you; questionnaires will be going out to you reasonably soon to get class data and memorabilia; a costume design was selected (shirt and hat), and general agreement was reached on specific assignments. If any confirmation were needed (and it most certainly was not), that weekend certainly proved how smart we were in getting Jim Godfrey as chairman of the Reunion. That man already had things organized that the rest of us hadn't started to think about.

The following weekend I went to the Yale game (a far less pleasant experience from the standpoint of score) and ran into the peripatetic and ever-ebullient squire of Hudson, Beanie Thorn, and Eleanor - recently returned from a trip to the West Coast, the Canadian Rockies, and all points in between. Turning around, there was Chuck O'Neill, looking every bit the man of letters. I heard Dave Loveland was at the game, but, unfortunately, our paths didn't cross.

Had a pleasant note from Frank Nichols, who is now with a stock-brokerage firm in Miami, Fla. He issues an open invitation to everybody to drop in ... and that would be really nice right now, with the weather approaching those goose-flesh temperatures.

The roster at the Hanover Inn showed the following returnees to campus (in addition to those mentioned above): Johnny Camph, the Charlie Engstroms, the Blaine Millers, the Johnny Bensons, the Charlie Sullivans, the Tower Snows, and Dave Borkum.

Get all your plans set for June 14 to 17. That's the big date. Be talking to you lots of times between now and then ... meanwhile, just remember, you're always '31.
