Officers for 1955 were elected at the recent annual dinner of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Merrimack County, whose members and guests saw a film of President Eisenhower's visit to the College in 1953.

Kneeland Swenson '40 was elected president of the Association for this year, at the event, held at the New Hampshire Highway Hotel,' Concord. Frederic K. Upton '39 was named vice president, while Robert G. Pelren '43 was re-elected secretary-treasurer. It was the group's 63d annual dinner.

William W. MacCurda '36, retiring president; Roland W. Burbank '33, William S.Freese '45 and John L. Hyde '43 were elected to the association's executive committee. J.Arthur Swenson '09 was named a trustee of the scholarship fund.

The guest speaker was Robert Allen '45, Assistant Secretary of the College, who detailed its public relations policy and measures for carrying it on. He also presented the film, which followed President Eisenhower during his two-day visit to Hanover and his receipt of an honorary degree.

The association's scholarship fund contributed $300 in ] 954 to assist students at Dartmouth from Merrimack County, it was reported by Dudley W. Orr '29, treasurer. A sum from proceeds' of the dinner will be contributed to the fund, the principal of which was reported to total $8,200. Judge E. W.Leach '01 and James B. Godfrey '31 were re-elected its auditors.

More than forty alumni attended, among them being Judge Joseph S. Matthews '84 of Concord, third oldest alumnus of the College. The Association's first outing in a number of years was held last fall and its success has led to plans for another this spring.
