Representatives of leading research agencies and publications will meet at the Tuck School April 28 and 29 for a conference on the problems of communicating economic research. The conferees will explore ways to reduce the lag between research findings and their impact on business and public policies. The conference, which is being arranged by Dean Upgren and Mr. Morton, has been financed by a special grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Dean Upgren was elected a director of the Dartmouth National Bank. Also he spoke recently before alumni clubs in Dayton, Cincinnati and St. Louis, before the New Hampshire Bankers Association and the Connecticut Valley Teachers Association.
Teams of second-year students have been making presentations on the business outlook to neighboring Rotary Clubs. Dale Olseth,Jack Friend, Bill Fitzgerald and Tom Davidson spoke in Woodstock; Dave Wakelee, KenHarvey, Gus Aberle and Walt Boden in White River Junction; and Lyn Brock, Carroll Hicks,Randy Hayes and Wayne Cliff in Hanover. Students have also been presenting a series of panel discussions over local radio stations.
Mr. Sargent is on research leave for the second semester, completing a study of the guaranteed annual wage and alternative ways to improve economic stabilization.

Hamilton T'23, consultant and director of hospital administration at the University of Minnesota; Lincoln Thompson, vice president, Raymond Engineering Lab, Inc.; Lem Bowen, director, organization service, Burroughs Adding Machine Co.; KirtMeyer Jr. T'31, vice president of Macy's; and H. M. Sherman Jr. '29, vice president of the Guaranty Trust Co. of New York.
