Further news on the Lize Wheelock 25th Anniversary Party.... The Reporter-Dispatch (White Plains, N. Y.) ran several columns and pictures, and Lize writes, "It was also a very pleasant surprise that Johnny Palmer and Gordon Sleeper turned up at the reception to represent the class. Despite the heavy snow storm of the day before, we had a good turnout and it was a very happy occasion." The Lowell Sun (Mass.) reports that Bino Knight was the guest speaker at the Lenten Midweek Service at St. Anne's Episcopal Church on March 15.
From California comes the information that Dr. Bill Washburn gave the welcoming address to open the 36th annual meeting of the Medical & Surgical Section of the American Association of Railroads. This is an annual conference on the health and safety of railroad employees and this is the first time it has been held in the Far West.
Bill Cunningham's column reports that John Plane has recovered from falling down the companion way of the Souris II. It seems that he's not as good a sailor as reported last summer. Maybe the winter seas are rougher.
Bill Hands writes that there was an enthusiastic 1914 Dinner in the N. Y. Dartmouth Club in April. Present were Buck, Barlow, Breslin, Daley, Hands, Hanna, Haywood, Humphrey, Jenkins, Kingsley, Larmon, LeCount, Palmer, Sleeper, and Wheelock. College architecture was one of the topics discussed and quite vehemently, as you may well imagine.
Class Agent Jim Gregg reminds us that it is not too late to send in your subscription to the Alumni Fund (if you have not done so). Jim stresses the point that every contribution, regardless of the amount, is important as it is the participation of every one of us which makes for the strength and reputation of the Alumni Fund. By the time you have read this, President Buck, Treasurer Batchelder, Class Agent Gregg and your secretary will have attended the annual meeting of Class Officers in Hanover. This is an extremely stimulating gathering and leaves one with much enthusiasm to carry on in the interests of the College.
With these notes I bid you adios until fall, but don't let that deter you from sending in letters, news items, etc. My address will still be the same through the summer months and you will get an answer.
We have not seen him yet, but it is reported that Gov. Foss is back in the States and is living at 82 George St., Arlington, Mass. We hope to meet him at the Wednesday luncheon at Patton's Restaurant.
