The Pfizer Company through its magazine Spectrum announced a Medical All-American Football team and it's no surprise to find two Dartmouth men on the squad: Dr. Andrew J. Oberlander, halfback, and Dr. George C. Tully, an end. Both played on Dartmouth's undefeated team of 1925.
Speaking of football, Coach Bob Blackman and Dartmouth College played host to the Ivy League football coaches in mid-May. Plans were discussed for the formal opening of the Ivy Football League next fall and other matters were covered. The Ivy sports information directors meet in Hanover on June 26-28.
The Dartmouth basketball team will play in the annual Holiday Basketball Tournament in Boston during the Christmas
vacation next winter. The tourney will be held in the Boston Garden on December 21-22, with Dartmouth, Holy Cross, North Carolina and Syracuse competing.
Baseball families: Dartmouth pitchers Dick Van Riper and Roland Barker are both sons of former Dartmouth varsity baseball players - Lawson Van Riper '28 and Roland Barker Sr. '24.
