Principal event at Thayer School since the last notes were written was the highly successful meeting of the Dartmouth Society of Engineers Executive Committee. This annual society activity drew almost 100% attendance of the committee for two full days, April 20 and 21. Principal topic of discussion was the program review and planning activity which has been carried on during the past two years as part of the 1969 Trustees Planning Committee study of all aspects of College operations. A specially invited guest at the meetings was Fred Davidson '15, former president of the society and long-time supporter of the School. Members of the Executive Committee who attended the meeting were President Rick Davidson '41, Secretary Bob Barr '42, Treasurer Hugh McLaren '40, Past President Herb Darling '27, and members-at-large Charlie Hitchcock '39, Barney Tomlinson '36, and Tom Streeter TT'48, and your reporter, exofficio member.
On April 23 five members of the faculty attended the annual meeting of the Boston alumni and friends of Thayer School at the University Club. Thanks to good organizing by Paul Breck '43 and Al Doolittle '37 and supporting activity by a number of other regular attenders, this year's turnout was the best ever, the total attendance being 36. At the instigation of toastmaster Al Doolittle, brief messages were spoken by civil engineering professors Ed Brown '35 and Russ Stearns '38, electrical engineering professor Al Wood and mechanical engineering professor EdSherrard. After the usual "state of the School" message by the dean, a lively discussion session continued well into the evening.

A card has arrived from Ensign Bill Bonneville CE'55, recently on duty in the Mediterranean area, showing a snowfield at The Cedars, Lebanon, where he had enjoyed a day's skiing. He reports that he finds the Middle East more interesting than Europe but that the international situation has somewhat restricted his movements there.
Congratulations to the Bob Prices CE'47 on the arrival on April 27 of Robert Edmunds Jr. Returning to this country after a couple of years with Standard Vacuum Petroleum in Indonesia, Bob has joined the firm of Metcalf and Eddy in Boston.
Nipper Lewis ME'49 is in the Instrument Department of the General Electric Company in West Lynn, working on gyroscope design with particular reference to Navy Compass Systems, and is enthusiastic about his work. He has recently been elected to the School Board in the Town of Nahant.
Craig Hausman TT'53 has returned to the Ford Motor Company following a two-year tour of duty in the Army, the last year of which was spent as Assistant Army Accounting Officer for the Second Army. He is now a Financial Analyst at. Continental Division of Ford specializing in control of Product Engineering expense and projects and of Manufacturing Facilities programs.
Bill Larsen CE'48 has opened his own consulting engineering practice at 143 Shelbourne Road, Rochester, N. Y. He offers services in the fields of sanitary and waterworks engineering, highways, drainage, site planning, surveys, and municipal engineering.
These lines mark the close of another editorial year for the Thayer School News. Don't forget that the School is open all summer and any vacationers who find their way to Hanover will find a hearty welcome here any time although weekends are a little quieter than weekdays.
