Although Uncle Sam delayed our mailing, well over 300 alumni, undergraduates, their wives, dates, and friends packed the Della Robbia Room of the Pertn-Sherwood Hotel in West Philadelphia to celebrate the Big Green's 6-3 victory over Penn at a postgame cocktail party. It's been a long time since the Quaker eleven last met defeat at the hands of the Indians in 1933, so those of us who live in Red-and-Blue land can now wear our Green more proudly. And a Philadelphia area sophomore halfback, John Crouthamel, had a lot to do with the victory.

Eight days earlier, on a sunny Friday afternoon, September 27, a small but avid aggregation of Dartmouth divot-diggers converged on the Coatesville Country Club for a round of the links, the second such outing sponsored by our Club this season. When the mathematics of the Calloway system were turned loose on the scores, a three-way tie developed between Tom Peirce '30, host member Hugh Kenworthy Jr. '41, and Charley Dorkey '43. After liquid refreshment and a steak dinner partaken of by all, those three repaired to the putting green to putt the winner, who turned out to be Hugh Kenworthy Jr. John Heston Jr. '54 also took home a prize, a roll of Alcoa wrap for the high score.

Enrollment workers met with Frank Logan'52 from the College for a briefing on the campaign for the Class of 1962 at the home of National Enrollment Committeeman Dr.John Wolf '24 M on Thursday evening, October 3. Frank was here visiting Philadelphia area high and prep schools to meet with prospective candidates for admission.

Some alumni always turn up in the area without our getting word of it. This is particularly true of those attending graduate schools in the area, many of whom retain their home addresses as their mailing addresses from the College. We'd like to have such alumni join the Dartmouth alumni fellowship in our area even though they may be only temporary Philadelphians. Any alumnus who has been in the area for a few months and hasn't received a mailing from the Club, should write the Secretary at the above address so all new arrivals get on our mailing list as promptly as possible.
