Jmichael McGean '49 has been advanced to Assistant Secretary of the College, it was announced last month by Secretary Sidney C. Hayward '26. Since 1953 Mr. McGean has been assistant to the Secretary of the College and has been given his new title in recognition of increased responsibilities in the area of alumni relations. Among other duties he will continue to work closely with the alumni clubs and to serve as executive secretary of the Committee on Class Reunions.
Robert L. Allen '45 also holds the position of Assistant Secretary of the College, with responsibilities in the fields of publications, Dartmouth College films, and public relations.
Mr. McGean joined the Dartmouth staff after a period of overseas service with the Army in Germany. After graduation from Dartmouth he did graduate work at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Arizona, and was principal of Chelsea (Vt.) High School until called into service in the summer of 1951. McGean and his wife, the former Lois Waring of Baltimore, were World and U. S. National Pair Skating Champions, winning the world title in London in 1951 and the U.S. title in Colorado Springs in 195 a.
