HANOVER this Christmas Eve does not seem like its old self. Unseasonably warm weather and a deluge of rain have left not a trace of snow. But as night settles over the town and the festive lights go on, as carols ring out from the tower of Baker and the stars sparkle in a fathomless sky, the snow is not missed so much, and the spirit of the season makes itself felt, as it should, from on high.
