Mr. McDavitt, the chairman of the Committee, told in some detail of the work which various associations had done in cooperating with the Director of Admissions in an effort to determine the capacity of applicants for admission to the freshman class. With a view to obtaining a more systematic alumni cooperation Mr. McDavitt urged that the Council assume the direction of this work with the understanding, however, that the local associations would be the first and natural medium of approaching the problem. It was moved and
Voted: That the Council undertake the responsibility of assisting the Director of Admissions in the rating of candidates for admission to the freshman class. It was further moved and Voted: That the Special Committee on the Selective Process be continued; that it assume responsibility in this matter for the coming year and that it further be requested to prepare a pamphlet of suggestions to local committees.
The Council then adjourned for luncheon, to reassemble at 2:00 p.m.
