A better-than-average tennis team did well in May by defeating Army 6-3, losing to Princeton 7-2, then stopping Penn and Colgate by identical 6-3 scores, downing Williams 5-4, defeating Navy and Cornell in weekend action by 6-3 and 7-2 scores, and then dropping Brown 6-3 and M.I.T. 8-1 in the most recent matches. This gives the Dartmouth team, coached by Red Hoehn, a record of eleven wins against only four defeats, with three matches remaining.

Dick Hoehn has been playing consistently well in the number one spot, having lost only two matches. Bill McLung and Captain Bill Bullen continue to hold their second and third rankings and are followed by Jack McDonough, Jack Her-rick and Nick Fernney. Hoehn and veteran Phil Langley team up for the first doubles team, with Henry Hof and Opie Jones the second doubles team and McDonough and Fenney the third.

Coach Red Hoehn is highly pleased with his team's performance this spring. It should be just as strong, if not .stronger, next year.
