CLARENCE V. OPPER '18 of Washington, D.C., was elected president of the Dartmouth Alumni Council for at the annual business meeting of the Council in Hanover last month. Mr. Opper, who is Judge of the United States Tax Court, succeeds Guy P. Wallick '21 of San Francisco. He has been a member of the Council since 1955.

Other officers elected at the meeting on June 13 were Milburn McCarty '35 of New York, vice president; and Sidney C. Hayward '26 of Hanover, secretary. The executive committee will include these three officers plus William C. Embry 34 of Louisville, Ky., and Ralph L. Rickenbaugh '28 of Denver, Colo.

As new members-at-large to serve three-year terms until June 30, 1961, the Council elected John D. Reeder '25 of New York; A. Searle Leach '31 of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Carlos H. Baker '32 of Princeton, N.J.; and Philip G. Moon '42 of Detroit, who now serves a first full term after a partial term of one year.

F. William Andres '29 of Boston, who has completed a one-year term on the Dartmouth Athletic Council, was reelected for a three-year term until June 30, 1961; and John B. Faegre Jr. '33 of Minneapolis was elected to a first term of two years until June 30, 1960. Charles E. Rauch '30 of New Haven, Conn., was named Council representative on the Board of Overseers of the Hanover Inn for the year 1958-59.

The Alumni Council approved the recommendation of the Committee on Alumni Relations, which has been making a two-year study under the Trustees Planning Committee, and established a new Council Committee on Alumni Organization and Relations, combining and replacing the former committees on Alumni Club Activities and Class Organization. The new group consists of:
