EUGENE HOTCHKISS III '50 has been appointed Associate Dean of the College, it was announced by President Dickey last month. Formerly Assistant Dean of the College from 1952 to 1955, he will succeed Arthur H. Kiendl Jr. '44, who is leaving to become Dean of Students at the University of Colorado.

Mr. Hotchkiss will assume his new duties about August 15. He is currently completing graduate studies at Cornell for a Ph.D. degree in educational administration.

As a Dartmouth undergraduate, Mr. Hotchkiss was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received the Class of 1859 History Prize. He was president of the Dartmouth Outing Club, manager of the varsity ski team, and a member of Chi Phi fraternity. During the Korean War he served as a lieutenant (jg) in the Navy.

He is the son of Eugene. Hotchkiss '22 of Chicago.
