Professor "Al" Foley '20 entranced 114 alumni, wives, and dates with a heady mixture of Vermont humor, the "old" Dartmouth, and the "new" Dartmouth at your Philadelphia Club's Annual Dinner on March 18. The affair was held at the Overbrook Golf Club and concluded with dancing to the strains of the Mellowaires. The Class of 1951, with eight members present, copped the Class Attendance Cup and the champagne that goes with the cup, long a possession of the Class of 1928.
At the annual business meeting preceding the dinner, the following officers were reelected: President, Edwin H. Fowler II '53; Vice-President, Richard W. Lippman '42; Secretary, Russell C. Dilks '51; Treasurer, Samuel R. Roberts '51. John C. Heston Jr. '54, who had been filling a vacancy on the Executive Committee, was elected to a two-year term as a Member-at-Large. President Fowler has placed Heston in charge of membership and named Hiram J. Allman '55 as Social Chairman.
Other members of the Executive Committee are DeLong H. Monahan '24, named to replace the immediate past president, and Stewart H. Steffey '41, in the second year of his term as a Member-at-Large. "Stew" Steffey came to Philadelphia from Pittsburgh not quite two years ago and immediately became very active in Club affairs, welcoming newcomers to the area, inaugurating our special last-Monday-of-the-month luncheons, and negotiating with the powers at the Princeton Club for more advantageous arrangements for our members. Shortly after our annual dinner, the powers of U.S. Steel gave "Stew" an even better assignment in Pittsburgh than he had here in Philadelphia. We shall sorely miss him, his enthusiasm, and his shoulder behind the wheel.
On Monday, March 30, a total of 40 men — 34 alumni, two undergraduates, and four guests - turned out for a special luncheon featuring the 1958 "Football Highlights" film.
By the time you read this, the Interclub Softball League will be in high gear — first game for our team on Thursday, April 30. Jack Young '47, who is in his second term as President of the League, is looking for more players for Dartmouth. Call Jack during business hours at LO 8-2131 or at home at MI 2-6552.
Arrangements are being made for a Golf Outing on Friday, May 15. The Annual Family Picnic is slated for Saturday afternoon, June 27, at Valley Forge Farm with Jim Tindle '36 as host. That's always a great affair for the whole family, so circle the date on your calendar now!
By now, you have all received our Annual Dues mailing. We need your dollars to support our active Club program. If you haven't sent in your dues already, please do so today. And how about pledging yourself now to come out to all special Club functions with a "Big Chief" membership? For $15 in addition to your regular dues, you obtain admissions worth $18.25 in terms of last year's prices for the same activities. We are particularly interested in having alumni doing graduate work in the area participate in our program and in keeping Philadelphia area alumni in the Armed Forces posted on our activities. For those two groups, we offer a special $2 membership. If perchance you did not receive a Dues Notice, a call to the Secretary during business hours at KI 5-0456 will remedy the oversight.

Keating '41; Arthur S. Graham '24; Brunswick G. Deutsch '35; Robert W. Elsasser '21, club secretary; Dr. Seymour F. Ochsner '37, club president; John W. Ormond 45, area chairman, and Gilbert R. Tanis '38 of the Development Office.
